OPAL is an information, advice and referral service for adults (16+) in East Dunbartonshire who need a bit of help and support, but do not know how to access it. It's a free telephone helpline (you pay only for the call) which provides information about health, social care and leisure services to individuals and the professionals who work with them. The helpline provides easy access to information and support, helping to prevent problems from escalating and becoming a crisis.
OPAL is a single point of access connecting people to local services and support, and depending on the callers preference OPAL advisors will either signpost the caller to appropriate organisations or will make direct referrals.
If you are struggling or get out to do your shopping, collect your prescription or get to medical appointments, there are local volunteers who can help. They may also be able to help with light gardening.
